ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Desk Expert position who meet the following requirements.

Reports to: Head, Election Operation Department
Duty station: NEBE Head Quarter, Addis Ababa
Duration: Permanent
Salary: As per the organization salary scale
Job Summary
The Desk Expert supports desk operations related to specific electoral activities. This role manages data, coordinates desk resources, and collaborates with other departments and desks. The Desk Expert upholds ethical principles, ensures accurate data management, and contributes to efficient desk coordination.
Duties and responsibilities
- Support desk operations related to electoral activities.
- Assist in coordinating desk resources and personnel.
- Manage data related to specific desk functions.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data entry and retrieval.
- Collaborate with other departments and desks to ensure efficient coordination of desk activities.
- Assist in providing necessary information to relevant stakeholders.
- Uphold ethical principles, including impartiality, transparency, and confidentiality, in all desk-related actions and decisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your line manager.
Requirements
Specification:
Education and Work Experience:
- Masters or BA degree in computer Science, Information Technology, law or related fields.
- 5 years for Masters or 7 years for BA
Know-How (Skills) (Technical competencies):
- Previous internship or entry-level experience in legal settings is a plus.
- Basic understanding of legal principles and electoral laws.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and legal research tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ethical mindset with a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
