Network / VoIP / Telecom Engineer

Mereq Tech is looking for an experienced Network / VoIP / Telecom Engineer for a short-term contract.

Job Responsibilities:

Install, configure and secure Asterisk (PJSIP, dialplan, codecs, NAT/RTP)

Set up and test SIP trunks, especially registration-type trunks

Handle Ethio Telecom fiber/ONT setups (bridging, VLANs, IMS/SIP service details)

Configure routing, VLANs, firewalls, DHCP/DNS

Apply VoIP security: fail2ban, firewall rules, protection against toll fraud

Test inbound and outbound calls, and fix call quality problems

Write clear documentation and hand over the setup

Requirements:

Proven experience with Asterisk and SIP trunks

Good networking knowledge (routing, VLANs, firewalls, DHCP/DNS)

Knowledge of VoIP security and toll fraud protection

Experience with Ethio Telecom setups is a big plus

Nice to have:

Experience with AMI/ARI and WebRTC on Asterisk
