System Administrator & IT Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a reliable and proactive System Administrator to manage our on-site IT infrastructure, local servers, edge mobile devices, and networking environments. You will be responsible for ensuring 99.9% system uptime, setting up hardware at client sites, maintaining local Linux/ERPNext servers, and managing offline peer-to-peer data sync configurations for retail operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Server & System Setup: Deploy, configure, and maintain local Core i5 Linux desktop servers running ERPNext/Frappe software.

• Hardware & Terminal Deployment: Setup, configure, and troubleshoot Android POS smart devices (e.g., Sunmi V3), thermal printers, and mobile phone apps for shop managers.

• Network & Connectivity Management: Configure and maintain local wireless routers, local IP addressing, and device-to-device (Wi-Fi Direct / Bluetooth) communication protocols.

• Data Backup & Recovery: Maintain automated local database backups (SQLite/PostgreSQL) and establish clear data recovery protocols in the event of local power failures.

• Client On-Site Support: Provide rapid technical support and hardware/software troubleshooting for bakery storekeepers, production managers, and cashiers in Addis Ababa.

• System Monitoring: Monitor database query performance, system queue synchronization, and local hardware health.

Key Qualifications:

• Practical experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian) and web server setups (Nginx, systemd, SSH).

• Familiarity with ERP systems (ERPNext/Frappe framework, Odoo, or similar open-source ERPs) is a huge plus.

• Solid understanding of local networking (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi Direct, static IP configuration, router troubleshooting).

• Hands-on experience with Android device management, POS thermal printer integration, and hardware setup.

• Strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to solve hardware and software issues on-site quickly.
