Business Analyst - AgriTech / Precision Agriculture

About the Role

Afrolink Systems is looking for an experienced Business Analyst – AgriTech / Precision Agriculture to support the analysis, design, and implementation of digital agriculture solutions.

The role will contribute to the design of digital solutions involving precision agriculture, farm management, agricultural data, geospatial technologies, IoT, digital advisory services, and system integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze requirements from agricultural stakeholders, end users, clients, and subject-matter experts.

• Understand agricultural workflows, farming operations, and business processes and translate them into system requirements.

• Analyze existing processes, identify gaps, and propose opportunities for digitalization and process improvement.

• Translate high-level user requirements into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.

• Prepare SRS, functional specifications, user stories, use cases, process flows, workflows, and acceptance criteria.

• Work closely with agronomists, agriculture experts, project managers, software architects, developers, UI/UX designers, data specialists, and QA teams.

• Analyze requirements for integrations with external systems, APIs, sensors, satellite and geospatial data sources, and other digital agriculture platforms.

• Participate in solution design discussions and ensure that proposed solutions address actual user and business needs.

• Clarify requirements and provide functional guidance to development teams throughout implementation.

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate developed functionality against approved requirements.

• Manage requirement changes, dependencies, and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

• Prepare and maintain project, requirements, and functional documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Agricultural Information Systems, or a related field.

• 5+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, requirements engineering, functional analysis, software implementation, or a related role.

• Proven experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting software requirements.

• Strong experience preparing SRS, functional requirements, user stories, process documentation, and acceptance criteria.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred

• Experience working on precision agriculture, AgriTech, digital agriculture, farm management, or agricultural information systems.

• Understanding of agricultural processes, farming operations, and agricultural value chains.

• Experience with geospatial/GIS systems, remote sensing, IoT, sensors, satellite data, or data-driven agricultural solutions.

• Experience translating domain-specific requirements into practical software solutions.
