K.Mikedem General Import and Export PLC is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support business operations and improve data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will analyze business data related to sales, purchases, inventory, imports, exports, and operational costs to identify trends, monitor performance, and provide meaningful insights that contribute to the company's growth and efficiency.

Job Summary

The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, organizing, and analyzing business data; preparing management reports; developing interactive dashboards; and providing actionable insights to support strategic and operational decisions. The successful candidate will use Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SQL to transform data into useful information and improve the accuracy and effectiveness of business reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, validate, and analyze data related to sales, purchases, inventory, imports, and exports.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports to support management decision-making.
• Develop interactive dashboards and performance reports using Microsoft Power BI.
• Use advanced Excel functions, PivotTables, lookup functions, and data analysis techniques to organize and interpret business data.
• Analyze sales trends, product profitability, supplier costs, inventory turnover, and operational expenses.
• Monitor import and export transactions, shipment performance, delivery timelines, and related costs.
• Identify data inconsistencies, reporting errors, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to management.
• Work closely with relevant departments, including sales, finance, procurement, logistics, and inventory, to collect data and understand business requirements.
• Support the development of standardized reports, performance indicators, and data-driven business processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Preferably 1–3 years of relevant experience in data analysis, business reporting, or business intelligence.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookup functions, data cleaning, and data analysis.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, including dashboard development, data visualization, and report generation.
• Working knowledge of SQL for querying, filtering, and analyzing data from relational databases.
• Understanding of data management, reporting accuracy, and basic statistical analysis.
• Ability to interpret business data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Good command of English and Amharic.
• Experience in an import and export, trading, distribution, logistics, or supply chain business is an advantage.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Odoo or SAP is an additional advantage.
