THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced AV / Technical Support Technician to provide core technical support for the auditorium, school events, and commercial events. The position will provide the permanent technical capability required for basic sound, presentation, AV setup, and event operations, with additional specialist technicians engaged when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare auditorium & facility AV systems for events and programmes.
• Set up and operate basic sound systems.
• Support microphones, speakers, and presentation equipment.
• Support visual presentation and display systems.
• Conduct pre-event technical checks.
• Provide technical support during school and commercial events.
• Troubleshoot basic AV issues.
• Maintain AV equipment and technical inventories.
• Coordinate with external event technicians when specialist support is required.
• Support event setup and breakdown.
• Maintain technical records.
• Report equipment faults and maintenance requirements.
• Ensure equipment is handled, stored, and maintained appropriately.

PERSON SPECIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or technical qualification in Audio Visual Technology, Electronics, IT, Sound Engineering, Theatre Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years' relevant AV/event technical experience.
• Practical experience with sound, microphones, presentation systems, and event AV.
• Strong troubleshooting capability.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Customer-service and teamwork orientation.

Desirable Attributes

• Auditorium/theatre experience is highly desirable.
