About the Role

Lehager Consulting is looking for a skilled fullstack developer to complete and test the remaining payment gateway integrations for our platform. The core platform and other development work are already in place. The primary responsibility of this role is to integrate Telebirr and M-Pesa payment services with the existing backend, ensure reliable transaction processing, and support testing and deployment.

Job Requirement

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or with related field of study with relevant work experience.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years

• Demonstrated experience integrating payment gateways or mobile money/payment APIs.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks/callbacks, authentication, and transaction handling.

• Ability to work with third-party API documentation and troubleshoot integration issues independently.

• Experience with Telebirr and/or M-Pesa integrations is highly preferred.

Location: Addis Ababa

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Integrate Telebirr payment services into the existing system.

• Integrate M-Pesa payment services into the existing system.

• Review the existing backend and payment architecture to ensure compatibility with the integrations.

• Implement secure payment initiation, transaction processing, callback/webhook handling, and payment status updates as required by the existing platform.

• Work with available Telebirr and M-Pesa API documentation, credentials, sandbox/test environments, and technical requirements.

• Conduct end-to-end testing of payment transactions, including successful, failed, cancelled, and pending transactions where supported.

• Identify and resolve integration-related bugs or technical issues.

• Ensure appropriate error handling, logging, and basic security practices for payment-related functionality.

• Coordinate with the existing development team to integrate the payment services without disrupting existing platform functionality.

• Support final deployment and provide concise technical documentation or handover for the completed integrations.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to work with an existing codebase and complete a focused technical assignment with minimal supervision.

• Good communication and collaboration skills.

• Available to start promptly and complete the assignment within the agreed timeline.

Scope of the Assignment

This is a focused development assignment. The platform’s main functionality is already developed; the immediate requirement is to complete the Telebirr and M-Pesa integrations, test them thoroughly, and prepare them for production use. Candidates should clearly demonstrate relevant API/payment integration experience in their application.
