Required Technical Competencies

Operating Systems & Infrastructure

● Linux (Debian-based distributions): terminal commands, filesystem, and kernel

fundamentals

● Microsoft Windows

● Web servers (primarily Apache)

● Mail services (Postfix/Dovecot - basic understanding)

● Networking fundamentals: IP, TCP/UDP, LAN/WAN, DNS, VPN, SSH, basic firewall

configuration

● IP/PBX telephony systems (optional)

Web & Database Technologies

● At least one server-side language required (Node.js preferred, PHP acceptable)

● WordPress installation and basic administration

● HTML, CSS, JavaScript

● MySQL/MariaDB: basic SQL, user management, backups

Hardware & Support

● PC/laptop troubleshooting

● Printer and peripheral support

● Software installation and maintenance

● Remote support tools (AnyDesk/TeamViewer)

Security

● Understanding of common attack vectors, vulnerabilities, dictionary attacks, MITM

● SSL/TLS certificates, RSA, and authentication handshakes

● Password policies, access control, malware/phishing awareness, backup procedures

Programming

● Background in Java or C/C++ strongly preferred but not mandatory

● Broader programming knowledge is advantageous

AI Tools

● Use of AI assistants to accelerate development and troubleshooting is expected;

however, thorough understanding and verification of all outputs is mandatory.

Unreviewed AI-generated work in production environments is not acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following will strengthen your application: Java, GraalVM,

Webmin/Virtualmin, nftables/iptables/firewalld, SpamAssassin, WireGuard, Nextcloud, Wazuh,

FreePBX, Synology DSM, MikroTik (Winbox), OpenWrt.
