Position Summary: The Project Associate & Digital Publisher will support MMI’s digital communications, content production, and project implementation activities. The position will be responsible for managing and updating the organization’s website and social media platforms, developing and curating written and visual content, producing photographic and video documentation, and ensuring the timely dissemination of organizational and project-related information.
The Associate will work closely with project teams to support project communication, visibility, documentation, and coordination. The role will contribute to developing stories, success stories, social media campaigns, event materials, and other communication products, while also providing project implementation and coordination support as needed to ensure the effective delivery and visibility of MMI’s programs.
Key Responsibilities
A. Digital Content Development & Publishing
- Develop, write, edit, and publish digital content for MMI’s communication platforms.
- Produce engaging news updates, project highlights, success stories, announcements, profiles, and other organizational content.
- Transform project activities, achievements, and results into accessible and engaging digital stories for different audiences.
- Curate and adapt content for different platforms while maintaining consistency in messaging, tone, and organizational branding.
- Develop and maintain content calendars in coordination with project teams.
- Ensure that published content is accurate, timely, relevant, inclusive, and aligned with MMI’s communication objectives.
B. Website Management
- Maintain and regularly update MMI’s website.
- Upload and manage news, articles, publications, reports, events, project information, photographs, videos, and other digital resources.
- Ensure website content is current, properly organized, visually appropriate, and accessible.
- Identify outdated, missing, or inaccurate content and coordinate necessary updates.
- Monitor basic website performance and user engagement.
- Coordinate with web developers and technical service providers when technical support is required.
- Maintain an organized digital archive of published website content and organizational resources.
C. Social Media Management
- Manage MMI’s social media platforms and maintain an active, consistent, and professional online presence.
- Develop and implement weekly and monthly social media content plans.
- Create, edit, and schedule social media posts across relevant platforms.
- Adapt organizational and project content for social media platforms.
- Monitor audience engagement.
- Monitor social media analytics and prepare regular performance updates and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to increase audience reach, engagement, and visibility.
- Support the implementation of digital campaigns and online awareness initiatives.
D. Photography & Visual Documentation
- Photograph MMI events, trainings, workshops, conferences, meetings, campaigns, and other organizational and project activities.
- Produce high-quality photographs suitable for websites, social media, reports, publications, donor communications, and other organizational purposes.
- Organize, label, archive, and maintain MMI’s photographic database.
- Conduct photo editing and optimization for digital and print use.
- Coordinate with external photographers when specialized production support is required.
E. Videography & Multimedia Production
- Plan, film, edit, and produce video content and documentaries for MMI’s website, social media platforms, projects, campaigns, and other communication purposes.
- Produce, short-form videos, documentaries, interviews, testimonials, event highlights, reels, project stories, and other multimedia content.
- Support the production of documentaries and longer-form video content as required.
- Conduct interviews and capture relevant audio-visual material during project activities and events.
- Edit video footage, including sound, transitions, captions, and other elements required for digital publication.
- Develop visual storytelling products that effectively communicate MMI’s work, project results, and organizational messages.
- Coordinate with external videographers, editors, designers, and other creative service providers when production support is required.
F. Project Communication & Visibility Support
- Work closely with project managers and project teams to develop and implement communication and visibility activities.
- Attend selected project activities to document and produce communication materials.
- Support project teams in preparing success stories, case studies, participant stories, testimonials, and other visibility products.
- Ensure donor visibility and communication requirements are appropriately reflected in project communication materials.
- Support the preparation of communication materials for events, campaigns, conferences, workshops, and public engagements.
- Provide communications inputs for project reports, presentations, publications, and other organizational documents.
- Support the dissemination of project results, achievements, and learning to relevant audiences.
G. Project Implementation & Coordination Support
As required, the Associate will provide general support to project implementation, particularly in areas related to communication, coordination, documentation, and visibility.
This may include:
- Supporting the coordination and organization of project events and activities.
- Assisting with participant, partner, and stakeholder communication.
- Preparing project-related communication materials and correspondence.
- Supporting the collection and organization of information and data for project documentation and reporting.
- Participating in project meetings and providing updates on communication and visibility activities.
- Supporting project teams with logistical and coordination tasks as required.
- Undertaking other reasonable project-related responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Specific targets and deliverables may be established for each project or reporting period.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication, Digital Media, Marketing/Communications, Public Relations, Multimedia, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in digital publication, content creation, journalism, social media management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing websites and social media platforms and creating digital content.
- Practical experience producing written, photographic, and multimedia content.
- Demonstrated experience in photography and videography, including filming, interviewing, editing, and producing digital video content.
- Demonstrated practical experience in video production and visual storytelling.
Skills & Competencies
