Backend Java API Developer

About the role

Help migrate a legacy Java API from older Java and Keycloak versions to modern Java and a modern identity provider. You'll be trained on the team's AI workflows, so no prior AI experience is required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Java (11+ required, 17+ preferred)

• 3+ years of Spring Boot building production REST APIs

• 2+ years of integration testing with JUnit and test-driven refactoring

• Experience reading and modernizing legacy codebases

• Professional English and overlap with US Eastern hours

• Openness to learning AI coding tools

Strong plus

• 1+ year of Keycloak

• OAuth2, OIDC, or identity provider migration experience

• Authentication system design

Nice to have

• JPA / Hibernate

• Kafka or other message brokers

• AWS / Docker
