Business Development Representative (BDR)

About the role

Gerad is hiring Business/Sales Development Representatives to acquire new shippers and business customers for our digital logistics marketplace. You will identify companies with transportation needs, introduce Gerad’s services, qualify opportunities, and convert prospects into active customers.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prospect businesses that regularly transport goods.

• Conduct outbound calls, emails, presentations, and field visits.

• Introduce Gerad’s shipment-posting, driver-matching, tracking, and payment solutions.

• Understand each prospect’s logistics needs and recommend appropriate services.

• Qualify leads and maintain an organized sales pipeline.

• Support new business customers during registration and their first shipment.

• Develop relationships with manufacturers, distributors, retailers, importers, exporters, and other potential clients.

• Follow up consistently with prospective and existing customers.

• Record all sales activities and customer information accurately.

• Meet weekly and monthly lead-generation, conversion, and revenue targets.

• Share market feedback with the product, marketing, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Sales, Logistics, or a related field.

• At least one year of experience in sales, business development, or customer acquisition is preferred.

• B2B, logistics, transportation, technology, or marketplace sales experience is an advantage.

• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

• Self-motivated and comfortable working toward measurable targets.

• Good spoken and written Amharic and English.

• Willingness to conduct regular client visits within Addis Ababa.

Compensation: 10,000 - 25,000 ETB/Month
